Reverend Sandra L. Ingham

The Rev. Sandy Ingham began her ministry with the Prairie Lakes UU Fellowship in September 2005. The Fellowship had entered into a unique partnership with the Green Bay Area UU Fellowship to call a full-time minister shared by the two churches, and the Rev. Ingham accepted this joint call in April 2005.

"Rev. Sandy" has a passion for learning about religions, spiritual traditions, mythologies, and faith journeys – how people approach the mystery of life and what it means to be human. She describes her own theological orientation as “humanism with strong Buddhist leanings.” In her new ministry with the Prairie Lakes UU Fellowship, she looks forward to growth within the larger community, the Fellowship, and within each individual member. She values ministry to children and youth, strong lay leadership (“We do ministry together”), and is committed to social justice work. She also believes a church must be a caring community, alert to the needs of its members.

A “high energy” person, Rev. Sandy is an avid cyclist and participated in a Year 2000 bike trip around the world, making it “most of the way.”

She has a strong affinity for nature and is an ardent environmentalist. She was involved for many years in “Beyond War,” an organization which promoted non-violent responses to world problems that might otherwise end in the use of military force, and her interest in peace activism continues. She has also traveled to Europe twice in recent years to participate in ceremonies commemorating WWII and D-Day with her father and other veterans, and describes herself as a history buff.

The Rev. Ingham served UU fellowships in Iowa and New York before her call to the Ripon church. Prior to entering the ministry, she was a member and lay leader at the First UU Society in Madison. She earned her Masters of Divinity degree in 1998 from Starr King School for the Ministry in San Francisco, CA.
